Hi,

I am missing something really simple here (I think) and was hoping someone could help me out. (I am using OS 10.4.7) I use OmniOutliner to export a file as HTML. It created a folder full of files and one file called index.html.
When I click on the index.html file it opens in Camino with everything rendered perfectly. I was thrilled at this point.
Then I put the folder in my "Sites" folder (websharing is on) and then I point my browser to the folder containing the "index.html" file but it doesn't show up. I get an error message that the page cannot be found. Hmmmm....

If I just point to the "Sites" folder I see two files: 1) Parent Directory and 2) Calendar.html

Calendar html is file I created using a really neat script called iCal2web http://www.ical2web.com/
and pointing my browser to the calendar file http://.../calendar.html loads the expected calendar page.

It seems I need to update the parent directory so that the server knows to share the calendar.html file as well as the folder I just added. Restarting the computer, turning "Web Sharing" on and off doesn't do it. Should I put the Calendar.html file in a folder?

Can someone help me out?

Many thanks,
Alex

what is the webaddress that you're pointing to?

http://localhost/ is gonna be your webroot directory, it's at:
//Library/WebServer/Documents/

Your sites folders has to be accessed like this:

http://localhost/~username/index.html
2008 iMac 3.06 Ghz, 2GB Memory, GeForce 8800, 500GB HD, SuperDrive
8gb iPhone on Tmobile

Doh!
Thanks for the reply. I think you're right...I'd forgotten about the webserver/documents folder. It was just coincidence that I had a copy of the calendar.html file in my sites folder.

Many thanks!!!!!!!

Keep in mind that the web server is case-sensitive.
