I know this is a long list of games but I'm relatively new to the Mac and in the WinXP world Sudoku, Mahjong, Chess, Scrabble, and Tetris were my favorite computer games.
I don't need anything fancy and prefer something that is very cheap or either shareware or free. Any good suggestions?

You can search MacUpdate: Apple Macintosh Software & Game Downloads
There's some free options there for the games you mentioned.

You could also try:
Quinn (Tetris knock-off): http://simonhaertel.de/
or
Frenzic: Frenzic : Index (Not free)

I reccommend Quinn for a Tetris game. Very fun and free.

BTW, why not use the Chess game that came with the computer?

Literati on Yahoo games is fun and is Scrabble with a different name, of course you need a Yahoo account (free) but you get to play online.
