Does anyone know if they work together? I ordered a rev A 1.8 and wanted to get a cheep monitor for now. I realy liked the apple 17" CRT studio display with the ADC connection.

Please post if you know.

Thanks, B.

Why shouldn't they work together?

That is a beautiful monitor. (I had one with my cube until I upgraded to the 17" LCD).

One thing to note: That monitor is analog. Apparently the ADC lines have accomodation for analog signals over the same set of wires.

That *might* make a difference as to whether it works or not.

The 17" CRT doesn't have to be analog, I'm pretty sure it's digital.
If you connect a CRT via VGA, the graphics card transforms digital signals to an analog VGA signal whereas the monitor transforms an analog VGA signal to a digital signal suitable for its electronics.

There are some CRTs that have digital connectors, and just by the absence of any serious correction menus, this leads me to the conclusion, the 17" CRT is indeed digital.
