Suppose that I want to post a desktop screenshot but I don't want to show the SN's of my contact list on Adium, what app can I use? I'm sure it's possible on GraphicConverter but I don't know how.

Not sure about in Graphic Converter. But try out Sea Shore: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15662
It's a sort-of-port of the Gimp, but all nice and Aqua. Not that many feaures so far, but it's nice - you could just use the smudge tool to blur out that contact list.
I recommend people to keep an eye on this program, it could get really good.

I'm sure they probably have some filter or tool built in that works better, but a simple way to do it in Graphic Converter is to do a Save As for the file, make it a jpeg, and then lower the quality as low as it will go (or relatively low...whatever it takes to blur the stuff) after pressesing the Options button. Then open your blurred file, copy the blurred section that you want out of the file, paste it into the original picture, and put it over the right spot. It might be a bit ugly, but it gets the job done.

You could always just collapse your groups before taking the screenshot.

The "Smudge" tool in Graphics Converter should do what you want. I'm more familiar with Photoshop so can't help you much.

Use the smudge or eraser tool in Graphic Converter. It's on that tall skinny toolbar that pops up next to images.
