That's one hell of a security system for your car.

Would be useful for keeping your parents from finding your porn collection.

So. Which cost more? The car or the alarm system protecting it?

I'd just tie it on the roof and turn it on for a road trip. Bugs would get fried before they even hit you, so all you'd have to do is clean off the ash.

That's the genius of it, it's plugged into the neighbors outlet.

Well, I didn't want to spoil the party by pointing out that the power cord probably doesn't really make this a great security system, no matter where it is plugged in.

Oh come on, bugs don't stick to... whatever that is. What are we calling it? A force shield? A Car-Thief Blocker 5000? Or just a bug zapper?

Dude! Amen!

Sadly, it's actually nowhere near as cool as the photo suggests. It looks like a big ring of lightning with time-lapse photography, but if you watch the actual video, it's just a rod circling the car with a dim beam coming out the bottom.

Well, it is a lovely shade of brown-gray in the picture... Does it then turn into a lovely shade of brown-blue-grey?

Just kidding with you. Seriously, cool paint does not make a car.

Of course, when you watch the video, it turns out that the arm emitting the spark rotates about once every 20 seconds. Awe-inspiring force field it ain't. But still, pretty cool.

It would be more secure system if he'd put the whole car under electricity.

The thieves would die like mosquitos in a bug zapper
