If you are that guy, then I have to say, you are a moron. He's probably not on these forums though, so, we shouldn't be running into any problems.

This guy couldn't follow the storyline of Return of the King. He couldn't see a connection between Aragorn becoming king, and the "rest of the movie". Hello! The movie is Named "Return of the King".

This guy is at such a low level of awareness and understanding, that he can only follow the simplest of stories. If it gets a little complicated, or something isn't directly explained in a "talking to a 3 year old" manner, he gets lost.

Am I wrong? Or is this guy a total moron?

Because he blames the movie for being confusing, instead of being ashamed that he doesn't understand it. It's not the movies problem, it's his.

From a glance at your post, I make an observation:
He has different taste is movies than you

Frankly, who cares... I remember several years ago running across a site advocating Pan & Scan over Letterboxed editions of movies. No one could get through to that guy that the Pan & Scan was the inferior image manipulation. I don't know what's happened of it sense, but then... I don't care.

My aunt is the same way. She can't stand that they "chop off the top and bottom of the movie".

After reading that first post I silently predicted that somebody would drop an "I could care less" bomb in this thread. Thanks for not being the one

haha. That's weird. Although, I remember at first I thought that fullscreen was better than widescreen, because it "filled up the whole screen", but I didn't really know anything on the subject. Then when I was educated, I of course agreed that widescreen is better.

And this guy doesn't have a "different taste in movies" than me. It's not that he doesn't like the movie for what it is. He doesn't know what it is. He can't judge it at all because he's too retarded to even understand it. It would be one thing if he understood the story, and didn't like it, but to not understand the story, and then blame the movie for being too confusing, is wrong.

It is not even that he did not like or understand Lord of the Rings. I could forgive that. But he actually said something like George Lucas could have fixed it. I almost dropped my ibook on the floor on that one!

I know! That was the worst part of it! And it shows the level he's thinking at. Obviously, he understands Star Wars and can follow the storyline there, and that's because Star Wars (as much as the fans like to deny it) is a childrens movie. A much more sophisticated work like Lord of the Rings is "too much" for his teeny brain to comprehend.

I'm gonna stop writing this before the images of what LOTR would have looked like directed by George Lucas become too clear....

I am sure he would have worked Ewoks (sp?) in somewhere! And Jar Jar instead of... the pain... pain...

I'm looking forward to the time (not far in the future) when the widescreen television is a standard and these folks get to watch all their P&S with fat black bars on the sides...

It has come to my attention that, whilst this retard didn't get The Matrix, either, he loved The Pianist. It's a good thing I haven't seen the Pianist yet, because if somebody like that thinks it's great, it seems almost certain that I won't like it.

No, it's casting Elijah Wood in any god damn movie that's confusing.

Ahh, I gave up trying to explain that to my ex girlfriends parents a long time ago. They would get so upset when they accidentally rented a widescreen movie.

Nope, they'll just have the TV set to stretch everything to fill the screen. That's what almost everyone I know with a widescreen does, and it is almost as annoying as my ex girlfriends parents.

Apparently all those references to Aragorn bring the "Heir to the throne" were missed in the first two movies.
