Full instructions for banishing Leopard's translucent menu bar:

macosxhints.com - 10.5: Get rid of the translucent menu bar

I'm using a value of 0.62, and it works wonderfully.

If you like the translucent menubar, this thread isn't for you. Go about your business in peace.

OTOH, if you've been counting the hours until someone found a pref change to fix this, this is your answer.

Next up--somebody at Apple needs to leak the command to make Stacks functional.

Stop wasting time with haxies. Get yourself good wallpapers and you'll love the translucent menu bar.

That's not a "haxie."

How about this: You stop wasting my time trying to convince me I'll like something just because you do.

BURN!

Yeah, if you like the transparent menu bar, then shut up and leave us alone. Not everyone is the same... let us hack it if we want while you go about loving your transparent menu bar... I think the transparent menu bar looks cheesy.

Now what about a hack to change the color of the 2D Dock! I want my white back!

There's no red wallpaper that doesn't look like ass thru the menu-bar.

PaperNotes, you're pathetic and you can't read.

So far it's running marvelously for me--looks great and has no impact on anything other than the transparency of the menu bar, from what I can tell so far.

You can even make it look like PPC G4 Macs with the darker grey look.

I just read about this on DF and was going to post a thread when I saw this thread at the top. Glad there's a solution finally.
