I'm going to buy an iPad2 in the next few days. Is there any word of a new iPad being released anytime soon?
I'd hate to buy one and a month later the iPad3 or something comes out.

From what I understand, the iPad 3 will be available 35 days after you buy an iPad 2, whenever you buy an iPad 2.

You will be past the date of Apple's return policy. And you will regret waiting for the iPad 3 for forever.

Actually, what I have read is that the iPad 3 should be coming out, with a Retina display, around April 2012, due to Apple's suppliers' inability to produce the necessary parts in the necessary numbers until then.

My advice is to wait until iPad 3, unless you need it.
In my experience, I have never met anyone who needs an iPad, for real.

I have never met anyone who really thought they'd NEED it, but the vast majority of people I've met who actually own one wouldn't give it up again unless you pried it from their cold, dead hands.

That includes people who put it off as useless crap until somebody gave them one for Christmas.

Notable exception: Doofy. But I've never actually met him.

Nobody needs an iPad, they may like, want, or desire desire one but that's a big difference. People nowadays seem to be bored if they're not staring persistently/incessantly at a screen of some sort with colorful things on it.

In fact, humanity existed perfectly well for millennia long before even BOOKS existed. People never seemed to be bored with staring at nature, or dying of tuberculosis, or gout, or whatever.

And by the same token, nobody needs an iPhone, or a cellphone at all.

Yeah, I dont think we will see the ipad 3 in 2011... They need to ride their iphone 5 wave and then go after ipad 3 for spring 2012
