I downloaded iConquer this morning, and after a few sample games, I went and paid for a registration key (which this morning cost $14.99). I didn't recieve the key by email, even when I wrote to the owner and asked about it. I see now the game is $12.99, and the demo is for 7 days (as opposed to 10 games), and the download link is broken (though the site is still up). Does anyone know anything about this game/author? Has anyone else had a problem with not recieving their key?

PS - sorry if I seem rather impatient - I just switched from a PC full of games to a gameless iMac. I've since ordered games (Civ III, Zoo Tycoon), but I was hoping for something to play while I wait for them. Thanks for any input!

I'm assuming you went to the developer's old site on Mac.com, because the download link there is broken. I think $14.99 is actually the new price, and the download link on KavaSoft.com works fine.

Ahh... yes, I was looking at the mac.com site. Still, the PayPal reciept is for $14.99 and shows KavaSoft as the business name, so I still should have recieved my key, I'd think.

Oh, yes, certainly. Did you write to the [email protected] address about it?

I'm sorry to keep harping on this, but it's been 48 hours and I STILL haven't gotten a key for this game, despite emailing the author twice. I suppose he could have a reasonable excuse for being away, but I thought I would warn any other potential buyers to be wary. It's only 15 bucks, but still - it's 15 bucks I could have used on OTHER programs that I might actually get the key for!

Anyway, I'll post again if he ever decides to cough it up.

Keep in mind that this isnt a major company, but a small developer. He probably has a life outside of his mac.

A... "life"? Wuh?

Actually, I did think of that. Stuff happens. It just seems that if you're going to be selling several pieces of software, and you had to be away from your computer for a while, you'd put up a notice to that effect on your website, so that potential customers and people with tech support issues, etcetera, don't think they're just being ignored (or shystered).

Have you tried posting on Inside Mac Games. I know we have a few game developers here, but IMG is also a popular Mac gaming site. Someone there might know the developer or know something. Don't know if you tried that already.
