Title says it all. Just filled my 500GB drive to capacity tonight. Need a new drive, and I'm thinking about getting the new Seagate 1TB internal drive for my Mac Pro. I checked Newegg, and the two reviews posted are from people who don't even have the drive. Have you guys heard anything about them? Thanks!

Haven't heard much, no. I've looked at the product pages for Hitachi's Terabyte drive; this is the first I have heard that Seagate's is out.

I would advise waiting several months before investing into one. It's difficult to establish the fail rate % right off the bat, it takes months to get an accurate picture.

What do you want to know about them?

If J. Random Idiot says "I have one and it's the greatest drive ever" or "I have one and it sucks" are you going to change your mind about buying it?

I'd buy 2 and mirror them or find some other way of backup, that's a lot of data to loose. Who knows with the brand, every manufacture will have a drive that dies, it's just a matter of time.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
