I heard comments about Quicktime 7.4 not playing movies any more.
Have you heard of this?
I came across the following link when searching for updating info.
QuickTime 7.4 breaks movie playback, how to fix - MacFixIt
Is there something to it? If yes, is it an error, or a new development of digital rights management?

I don't think it's DRM deployment. We just have to accept that Apple's QA isn't all that great around the edges.

Glad I did an internet search BEFORE I installed the upgrade.
What would one call an upgrade that doesn't work, but wrecks important functions? A wreckgrade maybe?

I just found this out as well. All my old MPEGs play with no audio and the TubeSock videos don't play any video.

Apple still offers Quicktime 7.4 as providing numerous bug fixes, but it rather looks like they fix you up with a bug instead.
