I might be going mad, but I swear my post counts are going up and down.
I'm currently on 394 as I write this (I think) but i'm sure i've been closer to 397.

I don't really care about the amount of posts I have but it's annoying as it makes me wonder whether i'm forgetting things or seeing things.

Thanks,

Sean

n00b.

Postcounts only go down by means of manual intervention by the admins.
Or if the hamster is hungry and doesn't get food. He'll eat some random postcount.

Evil hamster.
I demand that this be done to it:

Heimlich maneuver |ˌhʌɪmlɪç| noun a first-aid procedure for dislodging an obstruction from a person's windpipe in which a sudden strong pressure is applied on the abdomen, between the navel and the rib cage.

Anyway,

Thanks

The DB is wonky, some users lost posts, and some users are shown as having hundreds of times the numbers of posts they actually have.

Of course, if it were up to me, post counts would not be shown to normal users next to posts (normal users would have to manually view a person's profile), since post count padding is an icky phenomenon that makes people do stupid things.

Well, you could also view it as a currency.

It once cost me 1,000 pc to shut a thread down. It was worth it though

I think everybody is secretly fond of their post count but some won't admit it.
