(Spotlight topics go in the OS X forum, right?)

I'm having some trouble adding private folders in Spotlight. The folders I wanted to add are on an external HD. When I drag the folders on to the area, nothing happens. It works fine with folders on my internal HD.

I did some googling and found that it might have something to do with the fact that the external HD is FAT32-formatted.

Is this true? And, if so, is there some way to get some of the folders on the drive into the 'private section' without reformatting the entire drive?
