When will cinema displays be upgraded to LED backlighting?

The MacBook pro will be first, but then...?
I am also curious if LED backlit displays will give richer, more saturated colors.
Would you upgrade, if they came out soon?

Before the end of the year. The colors are richer.

No one knows the order of or specific timeframe for the release of LED backlit LCDs from Apple.
Yes, LED backlights give richer, more saturated colors.
If I bought an LED backlit desktop LCD, it would be from Dell, not Apple; I won't pay the premium for fewer input options.

in what world did you guys use LED backlit LCDs? Current generations are not richer with better colors. Current generation LED backlit setups suffer from uneven backlighting.
If your a "pro" user who needs an Apple Cinema display, you don't want one that is LED backlit, your not trying to conserve power. The Cinema display will be the VERY LAST display to get updated to LED backlighting.

Earlier today I bought an LG L246W 24" display for my PC.
Wow! Its an amazing display. Fantastic picture quality, razor-sharp text and very, very bright (in a good way - not overblown brightness).
Calibrated it with my Colorvision Spyder 2, and its simply pristine. Way better than the 30" on my Mac Pro or the previous 20" Dell (4:3) on this PC. If I wasn't so addicted to the extra screen real estate on the Mac, I'd get another one of these and replace the 30" with it (my PC doesn't have a dual-link DVI card and I don't have room for a second 30" anyway).
Who needs LED backlighting after looking at this display for a few hours!?
Highly, highly recommended.
Plus, it color-coordinates well with my PC - matte black bezel, piano finish on the base, blue LED-style power light. Matches my PC's case (matte black frame, piano finish sides, blue power/HD light).
