So rumours are that the trusty headphone jack is gone from the new iphone.

Forbes Welcome

Does this bother anyone? I never listen to music on my phone anyway

Since the subject is legit...

Apple's famous for not being the first out of the gate with new types of hardware.

When it comes to removing older technology, the reverse is true. Apple is often first out of the gate, quite early actually, and much gnashing of teeth always follows.

Yet, they've ended up batting close to a thousand on it. I predict this will be another example.

Well, since we are talking about it: removing the headphone jack is a move that I dread.

I'm using the same headphones fro my iPhone and iPad Pro. This is going to be a royal PITA.

Give it three or four years (once wireless charging takes off), I fully expect Apple to remove ALL ports.

They better fix my frigging wireless backups by then. Hasn't worked reliably for my phone for over a year.

Pfff, the electronics industry has been talking about wireless charging for many years now.

It's perpetually 3-4 years out.
