Looks like this thread has reached a new benchmark in greatness.

My reaching 10,000 is like when Jordan came back from baseball. You didn't think he could get any better, but he was.

Last night I saw an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know.

Oh come on. The thread doesn't need to die, but it doesn't need bumping either. Then we're no better than besson and his Steve Guttenberg thread.

You got something to say, say it. Baby.

Well, since I live in Dakar's shadow anyway I figure my 5,000th post should be in this thread.

“Laminar”?

Come on—“Gossamer” is so much better a name than “Laminar”.

Plus Laminar actually means something. And my sister said Gossamer sounded nerdy.

Gossamer is such a beautiful word, though; one that actually has a beautiful meaning to go along with it. Laminar is way geekier than Gossamer.

I hate to break it to you, but Gossamer always sounded "ghey" to me.

Laminar makes me think of fluid flow or air flow in an engineering capacity. I used to design ventilation systems and air scrubbers for chrome plating companies and we always had to make sure we had laminar flow throughout the systems.

So, for Laminar.

I dunno, Laminar reminds me of Lamar, which is kinda limp-wristed & ethnic sounding.

Sweet. I'm actually finishing up my fluid flow class right now, my final test is tomorrow at 4, so it's been on my mind lately.
