Has anyone tried to get Mail in Jaguar to work with a Microsoft Exchange Server? I can get read mail from the server, but i'm trying to get the Address book to come over. I know this has to do with the LDAP settings in the Address Book but does any one know the exact settings on both the Exchange side and Mail side? If you've done this, please let me know. I'm going nuts fiddling with it.

What version of Exchange on what OS?

Exchange 2k on Win2k has different LDAP settings than Exchange 5.5 on Win2k...

5.5 on 2k the LDAP port is most likely changed from the default to avoid clashing with Active Directory LDAP.

Anyway, I would check ports and protocols on the Exchange server side.

We're running Exchange 2000. We do have Active Directory set up on another server. I've had some luck getting to the Active Directory store with port 3268, but it doen't really list users, just built in accounts. I'm not sure excatly which server i should be trying to connect to.

It works. First you have to enable anonymous LDAP queries to your Exchange server - requires admin priv on the domain.

Secondly you have to enable LDAP in Preferences in your Address Book,

1: a name - could be anything
2: the server, ip or fqdn
3: empty - i.e. no Search Base
4: port 389 for unencrypted
5: Subtree

Works great for me!

How do you allow anonymous access on the exchange sever? Our 'network admin' isn't that great with Exchange. There are so many nodes in the Exchange MMC snap-in that i didn''t know were to start.

The mail part ot easy; i'm having the problem with the Exchange server. Those darn Windows permissions.
