I think I actually might have found something I like about IE.

Thing is, IE has ( well, win IE6 has ) an empty scrollbar on the right hand side, when the content is shorter than the height of the screen.

Firefox not, what this means is that my content jumps the width of a scrollbar to the left whenever a long page is accessed.

( I am using a 760px wide fixed width layout, with "margin:auto" for large resolutions)

Can anyone think of a cunning work around? I would rather not force a working scrollbar by having a fixed height "container" div.

you could use the min-height style.
