Anyone have any recommendations for a rack-mountable 3U 8-Bay RAID-5-capable Mac-friendly storage enclosure?
A Google search and some other searches have turned up dozens of possibilities, but I want to make sure I don't pick something that winds up not working out.
I've been toiling over using a DroboPro which fits my description perfectly, but I am concerned about the fact that it's a relatively slow drive, and I would rather avoid any slow-down issues when (to list just a few examples) working with my Adobe Lightroom catalog that contains over 100,000 images; or with my iMovie Events/Projects which amount to over 2TB of movies, or with my Massive iTunes and/or iPhoto libraries...
Any thoughts?

Thecus N8800; there's also a SAS version if you need that level of performance.

While there are faster solutions than the Drobo Pro, it manages about 80 MB/s throughput. It is a lot faster than its smaller four-drive brother. A `real' RAID is faster, but is less flexible in terms of expansion of storage.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
