LOL.

P.S. The Boomer East Asian thing is pretty representative of Western Canada too, as is the South Asian prez's aide. (No, she's not black.)

That is if you mean really, really, west. That doesn't apply so much to the prairie provinces (which are also considered Western Canada).

Ok there is something VERY special about Starbuck, she is the ONLY human that constantly has forsight. She had dreams about crashing on the planet and her game of chicken with Scar. So far Cylons are the only ones that have forsight.

Not to mention the first line in the pilot was "Are you alive". The same words are said by Starbuck when she finds the crashed raider.

Moore has hinted that the whole basis of the show is in "Are you alive".

No, there is nothing special about Starbuck. Those episodes didn't involve her seeing the future. They were just presented in a non-linear fashion, with a lot of cutting between the events that happen at the chronological end of the episode, and the events that preceeded it. Basically, extensive flashbacks.

They have mentioned in words more than once that she is special. She also wakes up from nightmares dreaming of the upcoming events so it isn't just editing.

Adama recognizes her talent, and loves her as a daughter. Of course she's "special" to him.

Funny how the cylons also call her "special" then.

Could be as simple as her having good genetics (and thus the talent) and perhaps a more suitable breeding agent. Then again, could be you're on to something. And then again again, could be the writers have no idea where they're going with Starbuck at this time.

I think Starbuck has a destiny the Cylons already know about. My guess is she is a descendant of god... or at least in the bloodline. I don't think she's a Cylon.

Oh that's right! We were talking about BSG weren't we! Doh!
If they really want to promote the show how about the really freaking cool BSG toys and models and wallpaper and screensaver downloads and crap. It's been freaking two years now. I would love a big lighted model of the old galactica and the new one and the pegasus etc. Has anyone seen anything?

Speaking of ships.... I wish they'd find one of the old cylon raiders (?)somewhere.... that is still the coolest spacecraft design ever as far as I'm concerned.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Uh...you're a little late there, dude. C'mon, NBC Studios' marketing department can't even keep up with its own show??

last ep was very very good. Love Hero Sharon, and Caprica 6's Baltar. Nice to see baltar looking together, calm... turns it upside down. I see it as an inner-ego manifestation, but the idea of a mangled transmit... has merit.

as for how he survived with only her protecting him... and how could he survive and she not... I'm thinking maybe she was programmed to die then, so she could report back.

Billy was killed just because the actor had other offers for bigger parts in movies.

he was not killed to advance the story. They also came close to cutting him first season for the same reason. Remember when Billy told the escaping president that he couldn't go with her? That was setting up in case he had to leave the show over the summer.

I liked Billy and was sorry to see him go. I also like Cally, and I'm glad that so far she's been able to stick around.

I just wish they'd get rid of the crap Chinese-soap-opera music, and hope that they continue to ease up on the flashbacks.

I'm just surprised with their ability to build raptors. They seem to suffer from the same issues Star Trek Voyager suffered from: The ability to lose a shuttle craft every ep but yet never run out.

I have always wanted someone to tally up the number of shuttles and crew that died in Voyager eps. It would just be really funny.

Just like the holodeck safeties always shut off and and the warp core ejectors always went offline when a warp core breach was in progress.

I think they had an OD on flashbacks after that episode where Lee flashed back in his flashback. They're detoxing now.

Well, shooting starts in April, so you could always just take a vacation next month in Vancouver and stalk them.

Hmmm... This season's finale is 1.5 hours. Didn't know that. No preview on scifi.com yet.

Why October? Are they going to start the new BSG episodes when the Stargates go on hiatus or something?

The only thing I worry about this is that NBC may meddle with the series more. Normal TV is a lot pickier about ratings and such. That's why Enterprise got canned just when it was getting good and why Firefly didn't last long. I'd hate to see BSG suffer the same fate.

Great finale. Not as good as Season 1 finale...but still very decent!

Starbuck and Anders are hitched ( i assume)
Chief and Cally are ....having a baby but not married? That's what i got out of it...?

Dean Stockwell....as a cylon.....PERFECT. I hope they can incorporate him more into the show. I'd rather have 10 episodes of him than that Xena chick.

otherwise...a big to Ronald D. Moore and company for a fabulous Season 2. Well done!!!!

The BIG queston now is....how long can that smaller fleet survive without the help of cloud 9. Which i assume was mostly responsible for food stuff supplies. (granted...they are on skeletal crews...but still....i wonder how much they have in reserve)

Any military vessel should be able to go for a loooong time on stores. I would assume both pegasus and galactica were fully restocked after one year in orbit.

So the Cylons go from forcing gods vengeance on humanity to forcing god's love on them. Season 3 should be interesting.

It was mentioned in the episode that the Cylons attempted to steal humanities destiny... so far my theory still holds.

Also of note, the destruction of Cloud 9 killed 10,000. The survivors are now down to approx. 39,000.

Eh, I doubt it killed 10,000. Yes, there were only around 39,000 inhabitants in the new city, but there was also an unknown number of people still aboard the vessels of the fleet in orbit.

Cloud 9 was a big ship, and I thought the explosion took out a few other ships too. Baltar also ordered everyone down to the planet.

Thumbs up to Baltar for constantly fracking the human race into the ground. Lets the Cylons devastate the 12 colonies and kills untold millions, gives his Cylon girlfriend's look-alike a Nukos: The Death Maker, which she pops off on Cloud Nine (see above posted prognostication) killing 10,000 or so, as well as alerting the Cylons to the location of the new settled planet. Nice job, you insufferable ass. I know as men, we have a tendency to think with our johnsons, but for christ's sake you need to set some limits man!

I like that they showed how settling the planet degraded the quality of life of those still on the ships, and those on the dirt. When everyone was in the fleet, they seemed to lead a pretty similar lifestyle to what they lived on their home worlds. Their clothes where nice, clean, and fashionable. People seemed to enjoy rather good health given the circumstances. With the exception of the war, life on the fleet seemed to mirror life on the colonies, and life here, for that matter.

After the settlement, they are living in a tent city slum. Basic medicines are not to be found. Labor disputes are about to take a turn for the worse. The President is a pill popping, lecherous assbag who's incompetence makes you wonder if all the people that voted for him just so they could live like savages on a backwater ****-hole are punching themselves in the face for being so stupid.

Those still on the ships don't look like they are faring much better. Everything in poor repair, and the crew looking just... grim. They really managed to convey what a monumentally stupid idea colonizing this planet really was. All in all, a great episode, I thought.

And thumbs up to Al for the dual cylon preachers. "I'M NOT A FRACKING CYLON YOU MORONS. Oh." I like him much better when he doesn't have to rely on Ziggy so much.

And I still can't get by the whole concept of the Raiders being sentient. Still my favorite development of the show. When they showed all those Raiders and transports flying over New Caprica, I found myself thinking "I wonder what they're thinking. Are they are still really pissed off?"

What did the voice say? I only saw the second showing of the episode and I don't think we got a preview. I didn't catch it anyway.
