Hi, I recently posted here and was wondering why the thread was locked instead of moved. It was clearly in the wrong spot, but I posted in it anyway assuming it would eventually find a nice home.
Am I missing something here? Thanks.

Nope. Original poster should have payed attention to where he was posting. It is possible the moderator of the forum does not have thread moving capabilities, but can lock threads. OP should create a new thread in the correct location.

The mods are trying to encourage people to post to the correct forum in the first place.
I don't know the details but Tooki says there are more steps to moving a thread then locking it (especially true with DH.)
