I want to save the full screen spider-Man trailer. Has anyone managed to do this? I have Quictime Pro and have tried the trick with the cache (/tmp/501/Temporary Items/QT...). But when I copy the cached file to my home directory and tries to open it in QT it crashes QT. Any suggestions?

I have QT Pro and tried the same trick. Doesn't work for me either. I was able to save the medium size trailer with the normal right click method, but I couldn't save the large one. My guess is they're doing that to make people visit the site for now and will make it easily downloaded in a week or so.

Quite simple saving the large trailer. When the movie is playing in the full screen mode, hit Esc this will put the trailer in a window. You can save the movie to any folder using Cmd+S (make sure you chose no dependencies) if you have QT Pro.

The file itself isn't up yet but should shortly, if you don't find a way to save it just check here from time to time.....

Yes you can. I did it a few days ago. Simply choose the appropriate option while saving.

Here's an even easier way:
http://www.geeksonline.uklinux.net/article.php?sid=163

Direct downloads linked to from that site. BTW, did anyone else think that this trailer really sucked? I was highly disappointed with it. I still think the movie is gonna rock, but they could've done a better job with the trailer.

All glory to the hypnotoad.

I admit Mr. Magoo is pretty powerful, but he lacks spider-sense and reeks of old people smell. Nevertheless, he does have decades of wisdom under his nightgown.

No, you can't. I have QT Pro and the option to save the movie "independent" is grayed out. This is normally what happens with a full screen movie because they want you to come back.

Retry this yourself and see if you can do it again...

Does http://a1568.g.akamai.net/5/1568/51/...b31482b1168ef1 5dd245ae2489/spiderman_fs1.mov work for you guys? I thought your guy's problem was that it was a stream, so I checked the source for the reference file, but it seems to be a direct link. The QuickTime movie itself seems to sport a custom skin. The file is 16.5 MB and should be done in about 52 minutes here.. on a 56 K.. so I can't really comment yet on if it works.

Edit: The link is too long to be embedded in a URL.. hopefully 'lax will increase the maximum string length...

I saved the large trailer the day it came out. I didn't do anything different than I usually do. It's a 16.5MB file but always goes to full screen when you play it.

That did it! I liked the first Trailer better, but this one is SWEET too! The WTC one was still the coolest though!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.
