I shared my AddressBook between me and my wife in Jaguar by putting the AddressBook files in the shared folder and then creating an alias in the each user's Application Support folder in the Library. This doesn't work anymore. The AddressBook just won't launch, it bounces and then just quits without any errors.
Does this have to do with both users being logged in at the same time? But I do the same thing with iPhoto and iTunes and it works great.
Does anybody know how to share the AddressBook in Panther? I would be very happy to know!

If you have a .mac account, you can use iSync to backup/sync the Address Book, so long as both accounts are set to use the same .mac account.
Kinda pricey, if you don't have one already.

I just exported my vcards to the public folder in my wife's home folder, and then imported them into her address book. Don't know how you would sync it nicely without using .Mac.

I have .mac so that's not the issue, but I want to use the same AddressBook file, not sync. I f I can use the same iTunes Library and iPhoto Library why shouldn't I be able to use the same AddressBook? Syncing is a workaround in my opinoion but I guess that's what I need to do.
I'm still hoping that somebody can find a fix. Maybe there is a new default that you can set to point to a shared AddressBook, that how I do it in iPhoto.
