I have a spare iBook keyboard. I will send people replacement keys for free. Just post the key you need in this thread, so I can mark it. Then private message me your mailing address and the key you want. It will be sent within a few days.

The keyboard itself is nonfunctional, sorry. This is just good for key caps and scissors.

edit: This is for a dual usb iBook, I'm not sure if the keys will work with a Clamshell.

It might help to email me at nub at comcast dot net, because as a few people who have requested keys from me know, I have a terrible memory.

edit: I found a host for this image.

(mods: thanks)

I could use the arrow keys and the stuuf under them (you know the things that hold them to the plate of the keyboard... plastc things... brak easily)

I would appreciate it immensely.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

OK, I just realized how expensive this can get for me. So, from this post on, I'm going to have to ask for a self addressed stamped envelope sent to me, and I'll return that envelope with your keys in it.

For anybody unfamiliar with the idea of what I'm doing, do this: Address one envelope to me as if you were sending me a normal letter. Address one envelope to yourself (make sure this one has stamps on it, and don't seal it), and put the second envelope in the first. Then mail that to me. I will return your envelope, but the keys will have magically appeared.

I just sent an envelope to voodoo, and that cost me about a dollar. Not much money to most people, but I'm unemployed right now, so...

Either way you look at it, though, this is tons cheaper than being raped by pbparts.

LaxPLR (you know who you are), when you get my email, you are a special circumstance because I didn't tell anybody about that beforehand. That's why it's somewhat different for you.

Thanks for being a good samaritan. I gave a useless, 333-megahertz PowerBook to Victor who has restored it to almost-new condition and is using it extensively. In the MacNN community, if you give a little, you get a little. You know, actually, I have yet to get a little, but I still give notwithstanding.

Just kidding, Victor. Thanks for putting up with me and fixing my PowerBook's LCD.

Here's a shameless plug: Victor Marks offers extraordinary PowerBook and iBook service at extremely low costs relative to Apple and Pbparts.com. He likes Pbparts, but frankly, I don't think anyone could do the job better than [email protected].

Oh, and if you're in his district in North Carolina, vote libertarian!

OK, I made a mail filter to put the key requests in their own folder. So if you could just put "key request" in the subject of any mail requesting a key, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, but what do you mean by "scissors" in relation to these keys?

To the person that sent me the $10:

Thanks a million for the money, but I really didn't need it.

I'm sending the key today, using the fastest service I can get for $10 or less (get it, get it? ) to get it to you.

edit: OK, I lied but I didn't mean to. My dad picked up the envelope on his way to the post office and mailed it before I got a chance to tell him otherwise. Sorry about that. But it should be there in a few days.

FYI, scissors for the delete key and tab key are interchangeable.

At work, the most often stolen key is delete... So I just stick tab keys on (we run out of delete keys way too quickly )

You mean you want all of the parts? Or ... I'm not sure what parts you're referring to. Drop me a line at nub at comcast dot net and we could work something out.

I may have access to two spare Powerbook keyboards(One Bronze missing the #5 and one Gigabit missing the right hand Shift key). Could these contain parts that are of use to anybody here?

Are they working parts? You might want to post them in the Buy/Sell if they are, they're worth quite a bit of money if they still work. Missing keys are trivial, they might knock 20% off the price you would get for a full keyboard. Still, you could probably get like $80-100 for them.

would you by any chance have esc-key? or *ANY* key between esc and f12? my esc is killed, but as the size of it is equal to any of the f-keys, any f-key would do as well.
