Here are a few pictures of my house, my parent's house and the Church I am a member of, taken during a helicopter ride.

It is interesting seeing my house and the town I live in from this angle.

The pilot just kept circling and circling so I could take pictures. I took my Pentax k-1000 up and took better pictures with that. I don't have a scanner though, so the crappy digital pictures will have to do.

Yes, VERY flat. Most of the Lower Penninsula of Michigan is VERY flat. The part of the state I live in doesn't even have "hills". The nearest ski hill, Mt. Holly, brags about a vertical drop of 350 ft.!!!

There is a former High School across the street from our house and the street is wider for that reason. So they could park the busses there and stil have two-way traffic. But in other parts of the city the streets are just as wide, and in other parts it's no more than a single car street.

We are having our town festival, Railroad Days, and there was a guy offering helicopter rides for $25US. It was about a 15 minute trip and I loved every minute of it. He went every where I asked him to go so I could take pictures.

Thanks for the compliment, I think.

Here's our camper:
http://www.palominorv.com/y-pony-17.shtml

It's a 2002 Palomino Colt 17'. We bought it because our dogs were chewing through the tent and escaping during the night. It's the cheapest pop-up camper I could find and we bought it with no options at all to keep costs down. We also bought it in the winter during a cmaper show and saved about 25%. Basically, it is a deluxe tent for us. I do like sleeping on the cushions instead of on the ground in a tent, but don't tell my wife that.

If you are implying with the "yeeehaww!!" comment that I am a redneck 'causin' I likes to go campin'... all I can say is: "Yes I am".

Thanks and thanks. Most guitar snobs sneer at my Ibanez, but I think it has a great sound. not as nice a a Martin that costs more than 4 times as much, but in my opinion, for the money you can't beat it.

I'd like a larger lawn really. With a half-greyhound/half-labrador retreiver and a collie you want as much yard as you can afford. And where I come from, this is considered cramped land and city folk territory. My neighbor on my East side has nearly no lawn whatsoever. He has just enough to require the owning of a lawn mower.

I'd love to own about 40 acres of wooded land with about 1 acre of clear lawn. Our plan is to move out side of town in a few years and build our final home (I HATE MOVING). I grew up playing in the woods, and I want my children to have the same opportunity

You're not wrong Thomas, Ibanez rock! The master (http://www.vai.com) and his teacher (http://www.satriani.com) seem to agree !

Thank you, Kilbey very nice pictures! Looks like a very nice area in which to live. How near are you to the Ohio border? I no longer live there, but I'm a native Buckeye!
That was a geat price for a helicopter ride!

Your QuickTime movie brought back fond memories. I remember flying with my cousin. Do you fly professionaly or is it a hobby? For my cousin it was a hobby! It's such a feeling of freedom!

I am about an hour and 45 minutes from Toledo. Durand is between Flint and Lansing along I-69.

I am not a U of Michigan fan, but when they play OSU I cheer "Go Blue"!

More of a MSU Spartans fan than a UM fan.

My wife is an alumni of Western Michigan University (WMU) and that's where we met. I went there, but took a job before I had a chance to graduate. Studied to be a wood/metal shop & drafting teacher, but took a job doing testing of experimental and concept engines and cars.
