hey zimphire, have you had a chance to drive in a wrx with a driver that pushes it? i have only once, and the guy scared the living crap out of me. i honestly didn't really know anything about the wrx until then, and he took this thing around a bending off ramp at 120+ and it was stuck to the road like it was nothing.

i used to be into cars back before i wrecked each one of them from going way to fast, and that is why i love the wrx and its all wheel drive. it is truely a ride that has to be experienced.

i have been in two major accidents in the past year and a half and i was still iffy about going fast and taking turns when in the wrx. but that thing stuck to the road like it was really on rails.

thats why i know my next car will be an all-wheel-drive

Well, you've proven you know jack ****. Congrats. I'm a subaru guy. And a dodge guy. And a WRX doesn't handle that great. It handles okay, but it isn't stellar. Now neons, on the other hand, while they lack all wheel drive, have GREAT handling. Part of this is because they're lightweight, and part is the suspension (its stiff).... the WRX on the other hand, has bump absorbing rally car like suspension, which is NOT a real good idea for 'road racing'. Anyway, the SRT4 is faster than a WRX in a straight line, or around corners, end of story. If you're going to pump the nuts of the WRX, you'd better be pumping the nuts of the SRT4 even harder.

PS: I currently drive a subaru. AWD does not equal=godlike handling.

You know what? I don't care. I'm glad you are happy in Neonland, really. But I will never be in the driver's seat of one. Never. You know why? It is a neon. When you go too fast in one, the crappy interior bits fall off and hit your eyes, blinding you permanently. I would rather pay $40,000 for an S4 that is slower the the SRT, but is a whole lot nicer in a lot of ways. And heck, I will probably only use its full power twice. But at least I will still have my vision. I am glad the Neon makes you happy, but seriously, it is not the end all of cars that you make it out to be.

as for the Lancer Evo, They look really cheap and the interior is crap, the WRX (and Sub's in general) may not have luxurious interiors (not by far), but they are damn well made and don't feel all cheap.

Since when were we talking about the STI? Add $10,000 of aftermarket onto the SRT (the price difference between the 2 cars), and it will completely own any STI.

Also, Subaru considers the STI stock, it is a trim level of the WRX

A stock neon is not the same as a stock SRT4. A stock WRX is not the same as a stock STI.

Furthermore, the SRT4 is not 'another shitty neon' * with better trim. See, a stupid girl like yourself would just say, Oh it looks different'. HA. It has a turbocharged 2.4 liter 4 cylinder that's putting out about 250 horsepower. That isn't just 'trim'. It also has different suspension and brakes, but whatever.

no one ever said they were the same, they are both stock cars, stock models, stock from the factory.

you're trying to say the WRX STI is an STI and not a WRX, funny it has 3 letters in front of the STI that would hint otherwise.

after recently driving the SRT-4 I must say that I was very impressed. To be fair though guys it wouldn't mop the floor with a WRX. It is pretty much a driver's race between the two. The SRT will have slightly better top end but from a dead stop it is pretty even. Given the choice, I'd still pick my WRX over the SRT-4 because I like the AWD for snow. If the SRT-4 was AWD and at that price it would be an easy choice. It was sort of an easy choice for my girlfriend though. She's getting the SRT because she thinks it's cuter.

I will be happy if Ca$h and Zimphire that the two cars are about equally fast.

I don't like Mustangs, like some of you teeny boppers in here do, but if I had to pick a Mustang over an over-priced sewing machine Neon I'd take it in a heartbeat (no pun intended).
