This is really weird, I'm a huge Depeche Mode fan, and I just recently stumbled upon this, I'd never seen or heard of it before. Depeche Mode performing "Enjoy the Silence" on top of the WTC in 1990 !

Kinda cool but I could only get half-way through it before I had to stop watching it. The scenes of the two towers together in close-up did me in. Good find, though!
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

Yeah I know what you mean. I think I still have a matchbook or two from a club on the hundredth and something floor of the WTC when I was clubbing there in 2000. I'll have to look for those one day.

That was nice. Thanks for the link.

It brought back a lot of memories.

I saw DM back in 1990 at Pine Knob (now DTE Music Theater). Nitzer Ebb opened. A very serene concert.

Yeah, Depeche Mode live is nice, I've seen them live three times myself, twice in the US and once in Europe. Nitzer Ebb also opened at one of the concerts I saw, Electribe 101 opened in Europe when I saw them and OMD opened for them at Jones Beach. That concert at Jones Beach was awesome.

Not that I know of, I don't think there's a way to grab these videos like the trick that people can do with quicktime links sometimes. If somebody knows, then do tell. Of course they can be captured if you use capture software like SnapzPro or something similiar.

Cool. Unfortunatey i've never seen DM live but I'm going to see Nitzer Ebb soon here. They're going to do some small tour through Europe this summer.

Tourdates, Nitzer Ebb Reunion Shows 2006

Important note: they're using Macs

I very nearly saw Depeche Mode at doing their puppet show at Crystal Palace in '93. But since I'd only gone to see the Sisters I left before DM came on.
Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

EVERYBODY in music uses Macs. Ok, that's an overstatement (a few weird people do use PCs), but it's not exactly uncommon for Macs to be found in music studios. Mac rules the music world.

Wow, that seems cool, but I tried it and couldn't get it to work.

I downloaded the video, but can't get it to play.

(Right-click -> "Save Target As" OR copy and paste the link into your download manager. Note: You must change the file extension to .flv)

What's .flv ? I added a .flv to the file and it won't play in either quicktime or VLC player.

Edit: Ok, I found out that .flv is a flash video file I guess. What Mac program would I use for that ? Something from macromedia ? or is something else better ? Are flash video files good quality ? I've never been crazy about flash stuff.

I sat (well, stood) in the third row - still dunno how I scored those tickets.

Were you that guy that dumped his draft all over my shoes while staring dreamingly at Martin Gore? Jerk.

No, I was on the lawn making out with my girlfriend 95% of the concert.

I was too young to buy beer back then.

Keep looking.

Use MPlayer to play the .flv files, it works pretty well. The quality will be exactly what you see on the YouTube site, it completely depends on how it was compressed in the first place, Flash just acts as a container.
