At the end of the day, it comes down to individuals who lack the opportunities that many of us have. Is what they do criminal? Maybe... Is it understandable? Perhaps... Just like Americans, amassing some wealth is attractive. For others, simply feeding your family is likewise attractive. Would you get up in somebody's face for breaking the law if you knew that it was the only way they felt they could feed their families?

That's fine, but you were arguing that my comment regarding overtime and benefits came after you made your reply to my first comment. My comment regarding overtime and benefits was made sometime between my first comment and your reply, which was a 7 hour time frame.

Not to mention we're talking about illegal immigrants. Even if you missed/ignored my comments on overtime and benefits, it's understood that they don't get any anyway. Even if illegal immigrants did, U.S. citizens can't legally work 14 hours a day. So your point about the makeup of ethnicity at your plant isn't applicable to the argument.

If anything, EVERY human on both North -AND- South America are immigrants, one way or another.

The problem isn't Mexicans - all Mexicans.

The problem is ILLEGAL immigrants. People who just decide to come into this country illegal and end up using our resources, such as hospital resources, welfare resources, education resources, etc.

That means that a hard-working AMERICAN family - which could be of any nationality including LEGAL Mexican nationality - has less resources and has to go without or pay more for someone who is using our resources ILLEGALLY.

Do you people, the ones who are yelling, "You're stupid and they belong here also" understand the concept that we are like a sieve and losing billions of dollars because of ILLEGAL immigrants? ANY illegal immigrants? Picking fruit for $10 an hour does not begin to make up for the staggering losses. California's health system is bankrupt. Medicaid is bankrupt. Education has been dumbed down and is suffering terrible deficits.

Why should hard-working AMERICANS...ANY AMERICANS...have to go without because of losers who come into this country illegally? I don't care if you wash dishes or pick fruit or mow lawns or run Los Angeles like the current mayor (hispanic) but come here LEGALLY.

Somehow the line is blurring where some people want to make this about Mexicans as a whole and that's not the case. Many of us are saying (most?) that it is the ILLEGAL ENTRY into this country that has to stop.
