Well ... after a gazillion years waiting for FedEx my machine FINALLY arrived. (It was about to get sent back, but by a stroke of luck the FedEx guy stopped by while my wife was "running by the house" to get something.) <-- I feel very happy now!

Anyway: These are pics which only document the "out of the box" experience. I have not yet taken pics of the final setup. (Honestly I want to clean the room a bit!) :-)

This experience was shared by myself, my daughter and my dog. (You'll see the dog in the pics).

Ok, I still have a lot of work to do as far as trim, but I thought I'd share with you what I have done so far. The center 2 screens are connected to my G5, the right screen is connected to my PowerBook Ti and the left hand screen is connected up to a Windows machine running Windows XP. The upper center LCD is a hi-def TV, and the screens to the left and right are connected to Quad processors that allow are connected to 4 each VCR's. This way I don't have to surf my favorite TV Channels. I will eventually connect two more computers to the 2 LCD's that are now blue screen. Except for the 3 keyboards and the 3 mice, the desktop (wooden) is fairly clear with plenty of room.


They locked my thread. This is in a class of it's own.

I will eventually add some blinky LED's and switches. I want to make it kindof sci-fi like.

I will also include some superbright White LED's in the ceiling panel to provide lighting down onto the work surface. Right now, I have 2 florecent tubes up there that are aligned perfectly with a cutout that illuminates the desktop and does not shine onto the LCD monitors.

I just wanted the most awsome set up. The cost so far has been much less than one 30 inch display.

What model NEC monitors are those? They look great. And how much were they?

I hope you do SOME kind of work on that set up other than optimized channel surfing.

It is now only available in I believe 2080sx etc. You can find some great deals on ebay for the 1880.

Thank you for the suggestion, but that works via ethernet. It might work for office programs, but it ain't going to work for MS Flight Simulator 2004.

How about using some switch boxes to reduce the keyboard clutter. (you could usb hubs to get 2 ports for your mouse and keyboard).

And switch boxes for the LCDs, and for routing sound to your speakers.

That's just freaking awesome anyways. Amazing setup. I've been dreaming of something like that.. for.. well.. since I became a geek.

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't need the LCD switcher thing, since I already have all the LCD's that I want. I have 3 keyboards and I do plan on using one of those switch things for the Windows machines, which I don't use that much anyhow. The Macs, I'll leave with the seperate keyboards. I'll show you a desktop picture later tonight.

The reason the LCD switcher won't work out, is because the whole reason I purchased the 4 LCD's is to play MS Flight Simulator 2004 on all 4 displays. Heck I wouldn't have bought the Windows machine if it wasn't for FS 2004.
