I currently run WoW on linux via cedega. I am planning on upgrading to a 24" imac in the near future. In linux, I have the choice of using d3d or OpenGL. I get better framerates in opengl, but I dont see the colored targeting circles under people's or mobs feet and I find that infuriating. I've always understood that to be something that was true of OpenGL WoW on any platform, is this true?

My second question is I have read that in an upcoming patch there will be multithreaded-OpenGL support for a "subset" of intel macs. Anyone have any idea which chips this will be available on? That would be a major consideration for me before I bite the bullet and get the imac.

You'll see the targeting circles under OpenGL on a Mac.

As for the "subset" that's probably any/all of the multicore chips, which includes the 24" iMac.
