My Mac Pro 3.0 Gigahertz stopped emailing photos through IPhoto. When I click on a picture, and then the mail icon, a progress bar appears on top for a split second, and then nothing happens. Checked properties to make sure mail is the default email app. Not sure what else to do. When I played around with the PlaneMailer (the app that works with gmail) that was the app that would email my pics. I uninstalled that app and ever since I am now stuck. I would like the default apple mail to email those pics out. Please help!

Is Mail the default e-mail app in Mail's preferences?

Yes! It is. However mailplane (made for gmail app) handled this before, I uninstalled it by dragging it into the trash bin -- so maybe my mac still thinks mailplane is the default email app?
