Is this a sign my video controller is going bad? My mac mini, that has been my main AV connected to my 60 inch LG plasma has become jittery whenever I move a window around. Also, the movies that I play on it are jittery too, almost like instead of 30 FPS, they look like 10 fps. I am running all latest patches, etc. Nothing has changed with the TV, and the directtv receiver on the TV looks good at 1080p. Does anyone know? The mac mini has the Intel 950 card in it. I wonder if there is a place to change some settings, etc in there?

Define "jittery" because jittery to me means the picture is moving around or glitching, whereas you say standard 30 fps looks like 10 fps, which would mean the picture is "stuttering," not jittery. These are two very different problems.

With a jittery picture (glitched pixels), I'd say yes, your GPU is having issues. With stuttering, I'd say to first check Activity Monitor and see if some other application is using up your CPU cycles. Does the problem persist after reboot? When using a different user account? What other troubleshooting steps have you performed so far?

Or either one of these defects could be caused by a bad video cable or one that wasn't properly inserted into the port.
