We should collectively thank Buy.com for preventing us Mac users from wasting our time on a defective wannabe-iTunes music store.

Thanks for the post!

All I can think about how badly people are gonna stick it to Apple if they screw up too.
I mean, the iTunes Music Store will either be a huge success or a massive failure. I hope for the first, but prepare for the worst.
On the other hand, Buymusic.com came out pissing people off from the getgo. Now they get what they deserve for their crappy service.

I am just shocked and stunned to find out that anything associated with Microsoft technology wouldn't work 100% as expected.
In my 12 years of using Microsoft products I have never had any problems!

This last line says it all:

Apple has sold 6.5 million songs since April; BuyMusic won't release figures, but "it's not millions," Blum says.

That guy Blum seems to be a real jerk, take a listen to this clip from CNET radio direct: http://gandm.hypermart.net/Spymac/Part1.m4a

I really like the line: "BuyMusic won't release figures, but "it's not millions," Blum says."

Let's see if their number of downloads comes anywhere near those of the iTMS. Even then it would be embarassing for them, considering the large user base they have.

Sidenote: I only hope they don't spoil the market for paid downloads before the iTMS has a chance to set foot in the Windows world. After all to the unsupecting - and technologically illiterate - customer they look a lot like Apple's offer (that's the core of their advertising strategy).

They could always market it "iTunes Music Store for Windows. It just works."
