You will be disappointed once it is no longer a beta game and there is still lag in major PC areas.

I thought you don't care about "eeking" out better performance for a beta product?

Hehe... if this is true I'm all over this game when it comes out...
On a side note... do we have any ideas on how much games like this usually run per month? This could make a great xmas present from the parents!

Typically they're around $10-15 a month. Pricey enough for companies to make money, but cheap enough that you don't feel too bad paying the monthly fee.

We've been spoiled by Blizzard's excellent (and free) network play in the past... on one hand, I really hope they continue to spoil us ("What? $40 a year for network play? Why sure, I'll have six!"), but on the other hand, I'll probably spring for it considering the company and their devotion to simultaneous release and other great stuff they've done for the Mac community... aside from the great (and, again, cheap) multiplayer fun they've provided in the past.
On another note.. save a place in the guild for me... as soon as I get some computer trouble worked out, I'll be joinin' in...

It isn't just asking way too much.
That's not entirely true. I've been playing on a 2.2GHz PC laptop with a 64MB graphics card while I wait for my G5, and I definitely have problems in the Trade District. It's worst when I first enter (and when I first get off the gryphon in SW). After a minute or so of loading, it gets significantly better, but still not perfect. The loading is the worst, and then I get up to maybe 10-15FPS.
It's a beta game, and I am sure they are aware of this issue as it is the number one complaint people have. I have faith they will fix it before it goes live, especially since there are going to be many more than 1k people online in a single server at once.

thinking about it, i tell a lie. I get major fps lag in these two areas:
Riding Mounts over Crossroads (heavily populated by NPCs, users, and scenery)
When I use a stone to return me to my local inn in Crossroads, the fps drops.

I'd like to point out that you're running a PC, that is all. The difference between the Mac client and the PC client is night and day.

Yeah, I hope to push past level 30 tonight with Krasher. I did Stalvan with TermnalFrost last night (was quite easy) and finished the Darkshire Ogre quests. With the help of my guild mates, I did Bride of the Embalmer, and we killed Stitches for fun. He even hit me a few times, and I survived.
I've picked up another Stockades quest, so I may head back to SW to get the guy's hand. Beyond that, I was thinking of going to Ratchet and trying to get rid of some quests I have there. Maybe I could go meet Mokeio and take on Gnomeregan. Should be fun.
Damn, this game is addictive.

Gnomeregan is fun...better take Mokeio (or a healer) with you. I dont mind doing one or two more of Gnomeregan runs.
