I have an Airport Express and extreme. I have WPA turned on.

Problem is I look over and see the Airport traffic activity light flash from time to time with the odd slow pulse when I am not using a wifi connection at the time.

Obviously I am worried someone is using my connection but I don't see how they could.

Does Airport occasionally just send out some signals as a hello or perhaps when someone is TRYING to connect (purposely or accidentally) or should I be worried?

Is there any way to see a list of everyone that connected (or tried to) to the base station? Or any way to monitor what is going on between the airport router and my DSL connection?

Unless you are living in a collge dorm or manhattan apt building, I don't think it is very likely that someone is trying to use your wifi.

You can always upgrade your WPA password to one from this page grc.com/passwords

ALL networking questions go in the Networking forum.

But FYI: if by "not using" the connection at the time, you just mean that you're not actively browsing the web or downloading email or something, then you may not be aware that as long as the network link is up, the computer will regularly create some traffic. Many services (such as Bonjour) create occasional blips of traffic.
