Anyone else have this problem?

Upon close inspection it's obvious that the clear coating on the lens has been rubbed "off" not completely but you can see it is not uniform and this is causing the issue.

I'm sure this happened as a result of being pulled in an out from my pocket/"incase" case.

I've tried cleaning it like I would my camera lenses. I've even windexed it. But no improvement.

Anyone else having this issue? Any know fixes?

I'm a little peeved as I have taken remarkably good care of this phone. I'm a bit shocked the coating has not held up better.

Are you sure that's it's not you? A little bit of hand shake will also make it blurry. Holding your breath helps steady your hand.

If you are sure it's not that, try a good cleaning solution/cloth made for cameras or quality sunglasses. If you use windex and something like a paper towel, you could scratch the glass

It seems to be a pretty common issue. The anti-reflective coating on the lens tends to wear off or crack, causing these blurry and "bloomy" images.

See: Apple - Support - Discussions - Anti-reflective coating on iPhone ...
it's the AR coating that's wearing off on the lens to cause the problem. and i used to work in the lab for an optometrist, so i know that those AR coatings (anti-reflective) are very delicate, and they cannot endure high heat. when your iphone's lens is exposed to excessive amount of sun light of heat, the AR coating will crack, and the only way to fix this is re-coat the AR coating.
This seems about right as I first noticed the problem after sunbathing with the iPhone next to me, upside-down.

Just take the iPhone to Apple/ATT and have it replaced. If it's Jailbroken do a restore first, of course.

Thanks Moep. that link is really helpful. I looked for this before posting here on Apple's boards but was not able to find it.
