Funny!

I'd say it still wasn't klutzy enough for true Microsoft 'design'.

That is really great.

Does anyone know what that music is? I remember it from "Pee Wee's Big Adventure", but it had to have come from something before that....

Didn't someone say that video was made as in in-house joke by an actual design firm venting it's frustrations with MS? Weren't the quoted comments actually things MS said?

If your right about this it makes this clip a A+. And something's telling me that you could actually be right. The guys who did that are pro grafic designers. I work in advertising and the comments are typical of big corporations with 10 levels of approbations, everybody trying to justify his job makes comments. At the end of the process the concept is soooo diluted that it doesn't remotely look like the original idea.

[edit for spelling]

PS: i'm french-canadian, so sorry for some spelling errors.

hahaha I'm a new media designer so this really made me laugh - I would hate to work advertising for Microsoft.

The music is perfect too lol

I saw this at What Do I Know? and loved it...

Music is great, the premise is hilarious, the execution is flawless.

I'm going to show it to anyone who wonders why I prefer Apple to anyone else. Three words:

Just. Better. Design.

My in-laws were picking their jaws off the floor when I showed them our new Mac mini last week after a visit to the Apple store in Portland. (Then my jaw dropped when it was made obselete by the announcment this week - but I knew it was coming. It does what my wife needs.)

I'd like one too, so I can have it offline to show to clients when they start wanting to take out all my pretty whitespace.

I wonder if the author is anonymous because they actually do work doing MS packaging. That stuff was so close to dead-on it could be.

Great production and execution by the author. It shows the design and packaging differences between Apple and Microsoft perfectly.

Holy cow. Anyone who's ever worked in this capacity with MS will know this video is dead on. It had to be made by someone with a good deal of experience. They even got the way that MS people communicate with designers spot on. Kudos to the creator(s). We are dying over here at the office over this one.

I think this was the thread were the fella talks about his company making the ad spoof as an in house sales pitch:
http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...20#post2896020

The link in the posts used to point to this very video, and now oddly it no longer does at the original address.
