A fog like London in 1850 crept up from the Gulf of Finland, right on time.

Keep an eye open for the Taurid meteor shower, if you have visibility.

I just went out and checked and the sky is perfectly clear. Looks like someone took a bite out of the moon. I'm at work, so I can't sit and watch the whole thing, but I'll pop back out around 8 to check it out. I wish I had my camera with me. Last time I saw a total eclipse, I got some pretty sweet pictures.

i'm all set up to record it with my camcorder. unfortunately, i only have one 60 minute tape, so i'm only going to get from 8 to 9 o'clock. (or i could do from 7:30 to 8:30... which would be better?)

It is clear here in Boston, so we should be able to view the Lunar eclipse.

Yup, looks beautiful here. The sky is perfectly clear and cold. The eclipse is now total, and looks like a copper penny. One of our dogs is all upset for no apparent reason. Anyone know whether dogs react to a lunar eclipses?

I've been watching it, but it's been mostly obscured by clouds.

Heh. I wondered how long it would take someone to chime in with that reference.

Freakin' awesome. It's a nice clear, cold night. Perfect for watching an eclipse. I kind of lost track of time until my boss came looking for me. Oops.

For photos, try a 50 mm lens with a 30 second exposure. Should get some impressive results.

All clear and happening here in central England.

Almost as cool as the 1999 solar in Cornwall.

Sat outside in 30-degree F weather at a friend's house in Frederick, MD. Saw it from beginning to totality (about 90 minutes total). Froze my *** off but was totally worth it. Some high clouds early which cleared off around haflway through only to reappear right before totality. Was a dull brick/copper color but you could see the outline of the moon and the entire surface all covered with this mottled color (like in awaspaas's pic). Got back home by 10:00 PM and it was just about back to a full moon. Very cool to see.

I asked because I'm intent upon buying my family a digital camera later this year, and being able to take decent pics at night is one of the things I'd like whatever camera I purchase to be able to do.

A sorry night for eclipsing here in Texas. Wall to wall clouds, with rain off and on all day. The pics are good cosolation, though.

It was almost equally as disapointing for me here as the Cornwall Eclipse was*.

Overnight we had the worlds heaviest cloud cover, combined with Loads of local light pollution and 'Fireworks smog', so you couldn't even see where the moon was in the sky let-a-loan any eclipse.

* Travelled all the way down to Penzance on a specially chartered train, as it was almost bang in the centere of totality, and getting it for the longest. Got off the train to be greeted by an overcast sky with bright patches, this quickly evolved in to heavy rain with heavier showers and solid black clouds, with about 0% chance of seeing any sky. I ended up watching the eclipse on a JumboTron screen at a radio One Roadshow in the pouring rain. I got home and my Mum said the partial eclipse had been amazing .
