She is a bitch and the boyfriend is a complete dork. Come on, glass cases for your action fictures? With a collection like that, he is probably not getting wild is Vegas.

Shows what you know about us dorks, geeks and nerds.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Thinking now....

There are a few things in that case that are rather expensive. Considering the fact that this piece itself is from a company that has told customers in the past to destroy collectables so that they can be replaced, I'm thinking there's a rather large margin where this could be staged. An $800 biker scout shouldn't be the favorite thing when there's a complete coin collection in there.

I'm starting to doubt the validity of this.

The concept of a collector seems to be lost on you.

I'd still probably hit her. then hit her again for real for doing that. Her friend too.

Fault? Only for being with such an annoying chick.

Should he have ebayed his collection (A)when he met her, (B)when he proposed ring-less, or (C)never started collecting to begin with?

Also, being that it was probably staged if they were asked to destroy the item for replacement by the manufacturer, is he still "at fault" for anything?

I'm baffled.

Let's take the whole thing at face value for a moment (because all the speculation about it being staged or not doesn't lead us anywhere):

You really think this guy is a keeper ?

I am on his side on this one. He can do what he likes with his money. If she considers him a catch and wants to marry him she is the one with problems.

I'm against this kind of reasoning.
Why is it completely the fault of the gf/fiancee ?

This is to say:

IF she stays, she is a great guy, only if she leaves, he's an dork / idiot / loser.

His status as a dork / idiot / loser does not entirely depend on HER reaction.
IMO (from all I get from his video), he's does NOT seem to be such a great guy. That's completely independent of whom he is dating or not.

Please don't tell me "Well, we don't know everything, we don't know HIS side". No sh!t, Sherlock. As I said above, I'm just taking what's presented and draw my conclusions, w/o adding my opinion and my speculation to it.

Alrighty, I couldn't stand to watch the video, but what's the reasoning behind the boyfriend being such a terrible person?

Because his priorities are out of order. This guy has spent thousands of dollars on Star Wars merchandise for himself, but he has not purchased his fiance an engagement ring.

So? Why should a piece of shiny metal be more important than a rare collection of figurines*?

(from the single guy's perspective and all)

edit: a collection of figurines that the guy already surely owned. It's not like he had an envelope marked "RING MONEY" and was spending from it to buy toys. this thread is funny.

This makes him a terrible person? Crazy, sure, misguided, sure, but terrible?

Anyway, if this is the reason for the destruction of his property, the fiancee is at fault. If she said yes to his proposal when he didn't have a ring, and knowing full well his proclivity for investing his money on other interests, her jealous destruction of his stuff makes her the terrible person, not him.

It's tradition. Whether this tradition is silly is another issue.

His fiance wants a ring, and clearly this guy can afford one (or at least would be able to afford one if he hadn't spent so much money on Star Wars merchandise), so he should have gotten her one.

Based on this video, I can assume that he doesn't.

It doesn't really matter if it's tradition or not, this complete lack of control expressed by the girlfriend is disturbing. I hate knowing that some people in this world lose it like that.

When a kid does this, it's somewhat understandable...he/she doesn't know yet that you can't get everything you want in life. When some 20+ year old woman does this, you wonder if she shouldn't be locked up.

Unfortunately for these chicks, their career might be over prematurely.

Hmmmm, I think thats the most rational thing I've ever seen from Monique. Regardless, she's not THAT hot, doable for sure but not to the level of being able to pull of THAT kind of ****.

I'm still a little wonderin' about the legitness, since her videostream pretty much consists of her flattening crap.

In any case, she's in the category of girls that amuse me greatly because they don't realize that if you don't have a ring and a date you arent REALLY engaged.
