Is there any application out there that can automatically detect all the aac files in my itunes library and convert them to mp3? I don't care about a small decrease in audio quality as I'm no audiophille. Also there are a lot of files so I need it to be automatic.

Anyone know of such a program?

If they're non-protected AAC files, you can just do it with iTunes. Just go to the preferences, choose Advanced and set the Importing format to MP3. Then, do a Select All in your music library and choose "Convert Selection to MP3" from the Advanced menu.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

If not all files in iTunes are AAC you need to turn on the kind column and sort by kind, then select only the AAC.
