I blame it on the boogie.

His last words to the paramedics were "Ya wanna be starting something? Ya gotta be starting something".

A sad messed up life.

RIP.

I'm guessing it was either over-exertion from rehearsal, or suicide.

It seems he was destined to die relatively young.

I'm gonna call Fake! unless we see pictures from the autopsy, embalming, and the casketing.

I betcha he would just love to disappear from his current life and its attendant legal/financial problems. A fake death would be a great way to go about that.
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.

An end to a sad, troubled life.

It's easy to look at his more recent pictures and think "freak," but it's difficult to feel much more than pity for him when you see his childhood (which he didn't have) pictures.

It makes sense that after passing people discuss his life, but I for one was only interested in his music. All of his personal quirks aside, he was an amazing artist and performer.

I just text(ed?) some of my friends the news. One of them replied simply with "Awesome." He's not joking.

I have a feeling a lot of people are going to share that reaction. They'll cite his bizarre behavior, accusations of pedophilia, and just downright creepy treatment of his children. I'm just wondering if we'll ever know the truth about the pedophilia.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but has it been confirmed he's dead? I'm reading that he's just been "treated and transferred".

No, there are conflicting reports. Now someone is saying that he's in a coma.

Neither the NY times or CNN is reporting that he is dead. I don't mean to sounds pessimistic, but I don't think we are about to hear a miraculous survival story.

Well, people suffer cardiac arrest and live through it all the time. Just ask Dick Cheney. (I know, some would argue whether Dick Cheney is alive or dead...)

Yeah, I'm not calling "dead" until someone with a little journalistic clout confirms it. But sad nevertheless.

Boston Weather, Breaking News and Sports from WBZ-TV (whatever that is) is reporting "A law enforcement source told the LA Times that Jackson was declared dead Thursday afternoon after arriving in a deep coma". Sourced from CBS.

Singer Michael Jackson dead at 50 - Music- msnbc.com

I have mixed emotions about the guy, but it's true that he was very emotionally disturbed. For that, I feel remorse over his passing.

ABC news said he is dead too.
It trumped Farrah's coverage which seemed like a more tragic death to me.
