And yes, I tried the plist hack without luck.
WHY would Apple restrict this to iPhone / iPod Touch users?

It ONLY works if you have an iPhone / iPod touch synced. Very VERY strange limitation.

Everything I've heard about this feature so far makes it sound like the iPhone/iPod touch restriction is entirely intentional.
