Is it time to drop our qualms and focus our attention on the first A4 device not being given any love? What is taking them so long? Are they understaffed? Is Apple going to wait for 4.1?
It almost feels that even a new OSX will be released before 4 for iPad.

Since it's not fall, you shouldn't worry. Although it does worry me a bit that there are no developer betas yet for 4.0 on the iPad.

I'm not really impressed with the new features of iOS4 on my 3GS. I wish I could easily go back to 3.x. Unless there is a real compelling reason (multitasking is stupid, folders is annoying), I'm sticking with OS 3 on my iPad 64/3G.

How odd. I find both indispensable, and the unified inbox in Mail is a godsend.

Mileage varies, happily.

My wife has a 3GS with iOS4 on it, and honestly, she doesn't care one bit about any of the new features. The multitasking is really lame, and she only has one email account. I think the "Folders" concept would be nice on the iPad, but that's the only feature I'm really interested in. The stupid Safari browser runs in the background now on iOS 3, but it reloads the page when you switch back. So annoying, that I use iCab almost exclusively now, because it retains the data in all its tabs. When iOS 4 comes out, I will probably ditch Safari completely.

I thought I was the only one who hated Safari.

What's the rush? I can't see anything in iOS4 that would improve my iPad experience.

Since I upgraded my iPhone to iOS4 I've been using my iPad a lot less. iOS 4 will be a huge improvement for iPad usability, at least to me.

Dab the torches in grease, spin up the grindstones for our pitchforks, for we are only going to enjoy ios 4 on our iPads for a month, then Steve will make them obsolete in Macworld '11.

Apple no longer has anything to do with Macworld, so I don't think anything is going to happen then.

They don't do anything at Macworld anymore, but last January they did hold an event to launch the iPad. So a January event could happen again for iPad 2.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.
