My Mac with my iTunes crashed a while ago and I didn't back up my music, but my iPod still has the music on it. But now my new computer is Windows. I need to put the music on my iPod onto my PC. I've tried two programs that use this function but the problem is my iTunes on my new PC won't recongnize my iPod until I "restore" it, and I dont want to do that.
Is there anyway to get around this? or am I going about it the wrong way?

Your iPod is likely formatted for use with a Mac; as such, you'll need a mac to pull the music off (Senuti has worked well for me in the past) to then import into the PC.

If you have to do so, find a Mac and a Mac utility to get your music off your iPod; then you can copy it to your PC.

I found a free Mac utility to do this once. I think it was "expod" but I am not positive.
