So, in a default L2TP configuration with osx as the vpn server and osx clients how does is traffic routed?
To access the local network of the server I assume it is client>server>local(to the server) asset
What about clients accessing eachother? Would data flow client1>server>client2 and then reverse with all traffic going through the server?
Or is there a way to set up P2P between them? Is it a matter of using a P2P protocol within the VPN? Or will the VPN set up the routing to be client1>client2 directly like a switch or something?
Thanks!

Once you are connected to a VPN, the individual clients behave just like in a regular (ethernet) network. They have unique IPs, and that's what you use to address them.
P2P is really not a concern/consideration once you are IN the network.

I just came to realize this seconds before you posted. P2P in the network, would be like p2p in a lan.
Thank you though.
