I received my 17" last week. It's nothing short of spectacular...no disappointments whatsoever.

Question is this. I had the reseller (PowerMax) max out the RAM to 1 gig. When I check the system profiler, the second RAM slot indicates the "SODIMM...REVERSED". I have never seen the term "REVERSED" used before. Any idea what that means?

The computer runs fine and the RAM seems to be operating as it should.

I would call Apple and ask what that means. Let us know because I have never seen that in any of the dozens of Apple laptops I've used.

edit: Well, I looked at my 17" and it says the same thing. So I revise what I said to: I have never seen it until now!

Jeff, yours is the same...does it run well? No problems? I'm getting the impression that it's normal, but I am going to check it out and call Apple.

I had mine BTO'd from Apple and got it straight from Apple w/ 1GIG of RAM and mine's the same way; I'm sure it simple referring to the arcitechture of the motherboard in which the second RAM slot is revereed in direction from the first.

You know what... I just checked my 17" and my God it says reversed too. How funny is that? I never noticed it before, but I know I haven't seen it before, I think....

I am sure its normal. I installed my own ram and I see the same thing. Is there anyone who had apple install the extra ram and they see it say reversed?

ditto.
DIMM 1 is STANDARD
DIMM 2 is REVERSED

I wouldn't sweat it. That's just the way it is.

Yep, as my previous post indicates, I got my RAM straight from Apple BTO'd, and it too says that same thing.
