Hello everyone, I am pretty new to customizing and was wondering what else I could do to my iMac G5.

So far, I have changed the icons with Candy Bar, messed around with themes and Shapeshifter (trial), installed Clear Dock, downloaded a ton of wallpapers and icons from Interfacelift, and put a bunch of themes on Firefox.

What else can I tweak? Thanks for any advice and especially links.

Sweet, thanks for the link, I just checked out some of the stuff, and it looks like I can do most of that stuff.

As for the obsession, I spent about 2 hours today going through all of the icons that I downloaded, and deciding which ones I wanted to use in CandyBar. Also, it says that you have to pay for CandyBar, but I found a version on the net for free. It didn't say anything about a trial version, and is from a reputable site, not a torrent or anything like that. I do get some sort of an error that says I need to upgrade something, but I just ignore it.

There is no free version of Candybar...whatever you have is illegal, regardless of the site.

Really? I did a Google search for "free candybar for Mac" without the quotes, and I found it at Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com

You've downloaded a trial...if that's where you got it from. Free to download does not equal free to keep.....

Dangit. So when it runs out, do my icons magically change back to the original ones? I know that you can manually change some of them, but not ones like the trash can, finder, etc.

I read on the web that the trial is just a limited version of the full program. I pretty much did everything I wanted just using the trial. I might buy it, I don't know. I will see if anything happens or if it quits working.

Thanks for your help.

The icons will stay however they were the last time you used it before the trial runs out..
if you don't want to pay for it make sure theyre a set you can live with

I can live with the iCal icon I found that doesn't have the birthdate of iCal on it permanently.
