I would like to reinstall Snow Leopard, my current version is have some nasty problems. Such as the finder crash at lest once a day, after it crashes all of my icons get real fuzzy. Its been getting real slow, scans that used to take only a few 2 min 3 tops are taking 15 to 20.

So I would like to reinstall, I have my 10.6 disk, but I want to make sure I am not installing over my older version of 10.6, that and will all my current files be lock to my current version of 10.6?

I don't understand. Do you want to keep your existing files, user accounts, and network settings, or wipe everything and start fresh?

I would like to install a second copy, incase i need to go back and check out a setting.

You'd have to install a fresh copy on a separate drive or disc partition. I hope you have plenty of free space.

A fresh install should also fit on an 8 GB USB stick.
