I have burned several standard audio CDs in iTunes on my new iMac and they all have problems when I play them in my car. They skip and have moments of silence where the sound cuts in and out. I know this isn't my car stereo as old CDs work fine. And the CDs I'm using are brand new from the case (and worked on my Powerbook G4). Anyone else experiencing this? I'm worried my SuperDrive might be faulty (haven't tried burning a DVD)...

Could be the brand of CD as well. Pickup another brand and try it.

My Sony CDs have problems for some reason, but Fujifilm ones are fine. No idea why one brand would matter or why it would work on my Powerbook before, but I'll just avoid the Sony ones.

Interesting, so the Fujifilm CD's dont skip, but the Sony ones do?
Burn some DVD's and post your experiences with those as well.

I'll see what I can do. First, I need some blank DVDs. Never had a DVD burner before, always burned CD-Rs, so it'll be a first.

Different burners work better with different brands. Just a strange but true fact.

Try burning at 4x or slower. Some audio CD players are very fussy.
