Just got the Lexar Professional UDMA FireWire® 800 Reader since my other lexar multi card reader usb 2.0 couldn’t be recognized by my mac pro desktop.

We’ll same prob again. I put in a few comp flash cards and the mac pro downloads them fine. But suddenly I put another card in and the computer doesn’t recognize the card. I restart the computer and same prob exists.

I use Nikon view (lastest ver) to download.

Any other have this same prob? Advice?

Thanks

Image Capture is an application in your Applications folder. It comes with Macs, and is an excellent tool for getting images and movies off of cameras. It may be able to read/recognize your CF card.

I think your card readers work just fine. Instead, please Go To > Computer in the Finder and check whether the CF cxard's volume appears. If it doesn't, launch Disk Utility and verify that your CF card appears.

This is what the Finder shows when no volumes are attached:

This is what it looks like when a volume (as in my USB gizmo here) is attached:

Make sense?

I have that same card reader and computer and I've noticed you have to push the card in pretty firmly. Make sure it's pushed in all the way.

See my post above for details.
And: the card reader won't appear, only cards that you have inserted will. Same holds for Disk Utility.

PS I haven't used the card readers you mention here, but a cheap-as-can-be card reader which worked flawlessly.
